With the release of ArcGIS 9.3, ESRI provides a REST API, which exposes ArcGIS Server functionality via easily accessible web services. This includes Software Development Kits (SDK) for Google Maps, Microsoft Virtual Earth, and Adobe Flex as well as a new ESRI ArcGIS Server JavaScript API. Utilizing the REST API and these new client SDK/APIs, GCS Research created geospatial data mash-ups using Lake County GIS data content with Google, Virtual Earth, and ArcGIS Server Online maps and imagery.
